Go Wild Magazine produce award-winning Food & Tourism magazines throughout three different tourism regions in Ireland, and they are the first Irish media company to join Ocast. We grabbed the chance to ask their founder Bobby Power to tell us about their advertising products, why marketers should advertise with Go Wild and why he thinks advertorial is one of the most powerful tools in advertising.
Can you tell us briefly about Go Wild and your role?
I’m the founder and Managing Director of Go Wild Magazine. I started the company in 2014 with one magazine title for Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Now we have eight individual magazine titles all under the Go Wild brand! I oversee every area from concept, through sales, editorial, design, print and online activities.
What type of advertising products do you offer to advertisers?
Currently the choices are display - full page, half and quarters. Full page display ad is our most popular product at the moment. We also offer advertorial - half or full pages. Digital options will be available in 2022 when we launch our new website.
What does your target audience look like?
Our audience is generally the 24 to 50 age group who want adventure, new discoveries and love traveling throughout Ireland. We also have a large audience in the UK and US markets who regularly use our website as a reference for their holidays in Ireland.
What is your top advice to advertisers to create the best impact with their ads?
Tell your story using advertorial, it’s always more impactful as people love a great story. Many brands are led by their designers to simply create display ads where the picture tells the story. However, readers today are more interested in the brand story rather than a simple message. Trust play a huge part in advertising so brands need to re-look at their story and get it across more effectively using the written word.
My best tip to advertisers is honesty. Tell the real story, allow them to know and trust your brand.
